Alamance Walking Trail
Embark on an enchanting journey along the trail that begins at the gate at the edge of the woods behind the Regulator Column. As you step into the lush surroundings, you'll soon encounter a delightful split in the trail, part of a circular route that will bring you back to your starting point.
If you choose the right path, a short walk will lead you to the Magnolia Trail—a charming detour that takes you to a magnificent Magnolia tree, proudly standing in the heart of the woods. After soaking in the beauty of this natural wonder, simply retrace your steps to rejoin the main trail.
Continuing on, you'll cross several picturesque bridges and discover twenty-one informative posts featuring professionally designed signs called Regulator Moments. Each sign reveals intriguing insights about the historic battleground and the pivotal events of 1771. Keep an eye out for smaller signs that identify the various plants and trees along the way.
And don’t worry if you need a breather! A cozy bench awaits about halfway through the trail, inviting you to pause and take in your surroundings. We hope you enjoy this scenic walk and uncover the rich history that makes Alamance Battleground so special!
